Project SWG would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

As we head into the new year it's also quite nice to have a little nod to the past ones, 2025 was a bit of a milestone for SWG in general as it marked 20 years since 2005 a year in SWG which was quite notable for it's somewhat controversial alterations. In April 2005 the Combat Upgrade arrived and only a short 7 months later in November the NGE arrived. This also made it a unique year in SWGs history, one which all eras of SWG existed for a time, PreCU, CU and NGE.

20 years later and we now have more or less playable versions of all three incarnations concurrently, which is quite an achievement for all the projects out there. With the official SWG existence lasting only around 8 years in total and shutting down in 2011 we are approaching the 15 year mark since the official servers shut their doors and yet even after all this time there still appears to be plenty of interest in SWG out there. 2026 is also a milestone for Project SWG which reaches it's 15th year of existence and whilst our progress has been slow and often faltered we are still around and hoping for a more productive 2026.

Project SWG
